A viral tweet exposed me to Our Father, a Netflix documentary, a few weeks ago
It's about Donald Cline, a discredited fertility doctor in Indianapolis in the 1970s and 1980s
who surreptitiously used his own sperm to inseminate
hundreds of patients, and how his actions changed the lives of his biological offspring.
Our Father premiered on Netflix on Wednesday, and it's packed with twists, poignant interviews,
more distracting reenactments than I expected. (I did, however, pay attention for the full 97-minute run time.)
Several of Cline's genetically linked children are interviewed in the film, including Jacoba Ballard,
who found she had seven half-siblings after taking an at-home DNA test as an adult.
